Pro Cheer League Partners with Paramount for Global Broadcasts

📣 Big news for Pro Cheer League fans!

Paramount has officially acquired global distribution rights to the brand new Pro Cheer League (PCL) – the world’s first professional competitive cheerleading league.

The deal, announced by Paramount Sports Entertainment and Varsity Spirit, will bring live PCL events and related cheer content to major broadcasters and streaming platforms in the U.S. and internationally.

“Competitive cheer has truly become part of the global cultural conversation. It represents athleticism, creativity, and community — qualities that bring audiences together everywhere,” said Larry Wasserman, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer, Paramount Sports Entertainment. “Its rapidly growing global popularity reflects a shared fascination with stories of determination, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.”

🏟️ The season:

  • Launch: January 2026
  • Teams: Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, and San Diego (30 athletes per team)
  • Events: Five matches in Indianapolis, Houston, Atlanta, Anaheim, and Nashville
  • Format: Three rounds per match — featuring stunts, baskets, tumbling, and a final full routine round

🌍 Why it matters:

This partnership brings professional cheerleading to a major entertainment network for the first time — helping the league reach audiences far beyond the cheer community. It also highlights the growing investment from major media companies in emerging sports entertainment properties.

📅 What’s next:

Preseason training begins in November, with the first match kicking off in January 2026. Details on exact streaming and broadcast platforms are expected soon.
